GUI ScreenIO for Windows

Selector Controls

Overview

Selector controls look like pushbuttons but display data and are loaded much the same as edit controls.

Selector controls exist principally for compatibility with Legacy ScreenIO.  They have no Windows equivalent.  They are a GUI ScreenIO implementation of a similar concept that was introduced in Legacy ScreenIO, our character-mode screen manager for DOS.

Selector controls were primarily used to display lists, and allow the user to select an item from the list by clicking it with the mouse.

Windows applications generally provide this functionality using one of the list-specific controls; listboxes, comboboxes, or listview controls.
