Base and Popup Panels

In Windows® terminology, the panels that contain your controls (fields, buttons, etc.) are known as dialog boxes.

In GUI ScreenIO applications, there are three basic forms of dialog box;

A note about size and position:  Other than for the main application panel, sizes and positions are expressed in a measure called dialog box units, which are 1/4 of an average character wide, and 1/8 of an average character in height.   Why would we do such a thing?  Because, if you change your screen resolution or select a different font at runtime than was used to design the panel, everything scales (approximately) to the font size!

Because GUI ScreenIO uses dialog box units, your panels look the same, regardless of the video resolution or the font that the end-user has selected for their machine!

You really don't have to worry too much about the size and position of your panel, because GUI ScreenIO's panel editor allows you to resize or position your window by simply dragging it, so you only need to specify an exact size or position if it is critical to the appearance of the panel...
