Using the GUI ScreenIO Documentation

We've tried hard to cover everything you need to know about using GUI ScreenIO, and we're continually working to improve it.  It includes:

Take a tour through the documentation; if you start at the beginning and read the first couple of chapters before you start trying to use GUI ScreenIO, you'll be off to an excellent start.

Here are a few other tips to help you use this documentation more effectively.

F1 Key

Have a question about something while you're using the panel editor?  Press the F1 key.

GUI ScreenIO's panel editor will launch this Help document and (usually) take you directly to the appropriate page in the documentation.

Index Tab

Can't find what you're looking for?  Click the Index tab and type the word that best describes what you need.  Don't worry about using the correct terminology, we've indexed many topics using common (and uncommon) synonyms as well as the "official" terminology.

Search Tab

If you want to do a comprehensive search of the entire document, try using Search.  This does a full text search of the entire help database, which can be overwhelming!

It often helps to narrow the scope of your search by using the advanced search capabilities.  Click the right-arrow button located just to the right of where you enter the word(s) to search for.

You can also qualify your search like this:

selection AND listview NEAR programming NOT overview

The search automatically excludes most words which wouldn't be germane; a, and, or, the, etc.

Favorites Tab

You can bookmark pages you want to remember by adding them to your Favorites.
